主讲人Professor Annette Van Dyke

主讲人简介:Professor Annette Van Dyke is an internationally known literary critic of Native American (American Indian) women’s literature. She came to SISU in 2010 to teach both undergraduate students and post-graduate students for a year. She holds a PhD in American Studies from the University of Minnesota, USA. In 2010, she retired as a full-professor of English and Interdisciplinary Studies from the University of Illinois Springfield (UIS). She has a scholarly monograph, The Search for a Woman-Centered Spirituality from New York University Press, over 30 published essays and has done 55 scholarly presentations on women’s literature.

During her 17 years at UIS, she held a number of important academic posts in addition to teaching such courses as Native American Women’s Literature & Culture, Women’s Spirituality, Multicultural American Women’s Literature, and Images of Women in Literature. She was chair of the Department of Liberal & Integrative Studies for 13 years (1997-2010), chair of the Graduate Council from 2002-2006, chair of Promotions Committee from 2008-09. She also served as the president of The National Women’s Studies Association, the scholarly arm of the women’s movement in the United States, from 2000-01. Before coming to UIS, she was Director of Women’s Studies of Denison University for three years, and Associate Director of the Center for Women’s Studies at Cincinnati University, both in Ohio.
