内容提要：
The outbreak of the Ukraine War marked a turning point in the relations between Russia and the “Collective West.” Moscow was cut off fromEurope and subjected to sanctions and diplomatic isolation. In response to this, Russia has turned to new partners in the “Global South” (especially in Africa) and intensified the criticism of the Western-dominatedliberal international order. It has also unleashed competitive narratives that depict the existing world system as a hegemonic and oppressive arrangement aimed at preserving the privileged position ofthe West at the expense of the non-West. This research contextualizes these developments using the popular Larson-Shevchenko Social Identity Theory framework. It argues that Russia not only challenges the existing West-led order by military interventionism but now also seeks to undermine its normative foundations with weaponized narratives.
